Hi, This is jacob. Can u send me the full aircraft model for flow analysis???? Please feel free to send this file in IGES format.
One more doubt for me, that is " before going for modelling of an aircraft, we have to make one rectagular box(test section), can u give me the guide lines how to create and what is the dimensions of this box? Thanking u jacob. |

Hi Jacob !
I dont have file to send u, i can give some guidelines on creation of box. if u are going to impose subsonic conditions just doubled dimensions of the aircraft will be enough or tak tyripple. if going for high speed increase it little more for supersonic it should be atleast twice or thrice. bye |

Hi,
You should also confirm the size of the bounding domain is large enough by doing a dependancy check. That is run a few sizes and choose the size large enough to give the level of accuracy you need. Obviously the more accurate the results you want the larger the domain you will require. Glenn Horrocks |

Hi everyone, I am just learning CFX. I have got on one Aircraft modes in IGES format from the web. I want to do flow analysis, but before that i have to create one RECTANGULAR BOX(Test section). Some body(Mr. Indrajit and Mr.Glenn) has given me the idea that what is the rectangular geometry specifications. Thanks for them. But i want to create that RECTANGULAR BOX now. Now I have Aircraft IGES file now. How to draw the RECTANGULAR BOX using CFX BUILD. Please can u give me the guidlines to draw the rectangular box. In advance thank u very much for all Regards Jacob.

First creat a b-rep solid using your iges file. Then once that is done go into geometry, enter xyz coordinates for the 4 corners of your box, then create 4 curves, use 2 of the parallel curves to create a surface. Take that surface and translate it the length of your box. Now you have 2 surfaces, create a solid using the surface. There, you have 2 solids, your domain and the b-rep solid. Now you can mesh it.
