Creating streamline animation with steady flow

Hi i have results from a steady flow simulation and now i want to creaate an animation file to show the velocity streamlines. I look at the timestep and realise i only have 1 timestep

help appreciated. thans

Hi,

In a steady state simulation you only have 1 timestep, the final timestep. If the flow is steady, the streamlines are steady. What kind of animation do you wanna do?

i want to animate the flow across a blunt sequentially. so i guess for animation purposes only transiet flow is alloweD?

Hi,

You may create animations from a steady state simulation, in Tutorial 1 (steady state simulation) is shown how to do that.

I still didn't understand what you intent to do.Do you want to see the points on streamlines moving forward? I think this isn't possible to do in CFX, but I'm not sure.

Re: Creating streamline animation with steady flow

not very difficult to do in CFX5.7.1.Just using animation panel, you create the streamline line at 0s and define the first frame. Then change streamline line to 5 or 8s, and define the second frame. then adjust time step to 3000 or more between first and second frame. Then you can play your animation well.
