Help regarding high quality figures from CFX-post

I am using CFX 5.7.1 to simulate a stirred vessel. When I printed the figures in the format of jpg from CFX-post, I found that the quality is not good when I put it into word file. How to improve it? Help needed!

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

When you choose the format jpeg, on the bottom of the Print window there is the box Image Quality. The default value is 80, you may increase it to 100.However, to obtain better quality images select the format Bitmap. But the files size will be much larger.

Hope this helps.Regards,

Rui

In my experience, higher quality PNG formats give better results with smaller file sizes.

NEVER use JPEG compression for CFD plots. The Jpeg-algorithm is designed for real life photos and not for colorfull CFD plots. Use PNG with size 1820x1280 (for instance). - Michael

Create a PNG at 200% scaling, then reduce the image size in Word. Your monitor displays at ~70 to 100 DPI (Dots per Inch), whereas your printer is typically 300 to 600 DPI. The higher DPI makes pixelization more obvious.

With CFX 10.0, Post will also anti-alias the image (default "High Quality" output), which further smooths lines and contours.
