FSI(Fluid Structure Integration) using CFX 10

Hi to everybody. Can anayone tell me that can CFx 10 perform FSI or not?second thing is that what should be physiscs for applying acoustic analysis? Thanking you

Yep, CFX 10 can do FSI. Your options are: 1. Use CEL to define mesh movement based on the Pressure Forces. The Ball Valve tutorial in the documentation uses this approach. 2. One-way coupling to ANSYS, i.e. exporting Pressure data from CFX-Post. 3. Two-way coupling to ANSYS - both solvers run and pass data back and forth.

For detailed acoustic analysis you would have to export the Pressure field to an acoustics package such as LMS Sysnoise. For simple analysis, for example to locate the source of noise, you should just look for transient pressure fluctuations in your results at the frequency of interest. Obviously your simulation has to be transient. A timestep around 1/10 to 1/20 of the highest frequency of interest is required. Mike
