I am starting to simulate a CENTRIFUGAL FAN.

1.I have made the rotor wiht turbogrid 1.6
2.I have made the volute with CFX-Mesh
3.I have put massflow at inlet and pressure at outlet
4.The interface between rotor-volute is a Frozen rotor.

Pressure between experimental data and CFX data are quite diferent.

could anyone give me advise??
1.Is it o.k to mesh with CFX-Mesh for volute?
3.Wich type of interface I must put?
4.How I can model the gap between rotor(rotating) and inlet (static)

Dear sir

This is sudarshan from india.

I am doing my MTECH in COMPUTER AIDED MECHANICAL DESIGN AND ANALYSIS.

I am doing a project titled " INVESTIGATION OF THE TWO DIMENSIONAL FLOW BEHAVIOUR DUE TO INTERACTION BETWEEN THE IMPELLER AND VANED DIFFUSER IN A CENTRIFUGAL FAN ".

The objectives of the projects are :

1) To locate secondary flow vortex.

2) Flow separation under different operating conditions and to establish design point operation of the pump.

The software tool used for the above is ANSYS.

I need your help for my project work.

Can you send me all the research papers involved in my project work.

I will be greatful to you if you send me research papers.

My email id is sudarshan2683@yahoo.co.in

Thanking you,

Yours faithfully SUDARSHAN

Hello,
I do not understand what do you need exactly. Could you specify what do you need?

HI ALL,

I WORK ON DESIGN OF CENTRIFUGAL PUMP VOLUTE. 1) I WANT TO KNOW , TO CARRY OUT CFD ANAYSIS USING FROZEN ROTOR ,WHICH IS BEST STEADY STATE OR TRANSIENT..?

2)ANY MATERIAL RELATED TO VOLUTE DESIGN

Thanking you, Mangesh

Frozen rotor is a "photograph" of your problem at this time.
Use Frozen rotor to carry out your simulation at first and then use Transient simulation to get more accurate results.
With a transient simulation you can see the interaction between rotor and volute along time with different positions for the baldes.

hi thanks

I AM GIVING TOTAL PRESSURE AT INLET AND MASS FLOW RATE AT OUTLET. BUT WHEN I CHANGE MASS FLOW RATE , TORQUE IS CHANGE ,

SO PLZ GUIDE ME FOR OUTLET BOUNDARY CONDITION.

These boundary conditions are o.k.
The torque, power, and raiting point Pressure-massflow change with massflow boundary condition.
Have you ever saw a centrifugal fan plot??
Because this is how fans work.
