Dear All, I am working on 2 phase flows inside bubble columns (water & air) ... upto now I've been simulation only the hydrodynamics and now I would like to include also the mass transfer, so I would appreciate any suggestions and help in this regard, for I'm new in this field (mass transfer).

best regards, houman

Hi, Look at the validation report for Bubble column available on thecommunity site. It also refers to mass transfer of oxygen between water and air.

All you need to do is to create two additional variable with units of concentration (Volumetric). One will be solved in water phase and the other in gas phase. In the fluid pair options you can define the mass tranfer between the additional variables.

Regards, test

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your reply, but unfortunately on the Community site I was not able to find your mentioned report for bubble column, so would you please sent me the web link... About the method you mentioned, do you have any example, so that I could see more details about it? should it be a seady state or a transient simulation, what kind of mass transfer option is used? Mass Flux or Flow with which rate?

so, I would highly appreciate it if you could help me in this regard, Sincerely yours, houman
