Symmetry Plane

Hi all,

I'm currently running simulations for an aerofoil in a wind tunnel, and to cut down on processing time, am using a symmetry plane to cut the problem in half, as it is symmetrical. My question is, when I am calculating lift from the "forces" bit in the results file, does the global y force take into account the whole of the simulation, or just the half i have modelled?

Thanks,

Andrew

Hi Andrew,

The solver will only give you the force on the part of the model it is simulating, i.e. half of the aerofoil.

Cheers

Paul
