User Surface, Calculator

Hi,

I have tried to use the CFX POST Calculator to evaluate the flow field through a User Surface in CFX Post.

But the results have no sense. It seems that there are only four mesh points on the User Surface: the four end points of the rectangle

that defines the User Surface. The mesh points lying in the inner part are not considered, unlike when using a PLANE.

The problem is that I have to use a USER Surface in order to evaluate the flow field over a bounded area which lies completely in the flow field.

Does somebody know more about using a the Calculator on a User Surface?

Thanks

Christian

Hi,

How have you created the User Surface? When you visualize it with the "Draw Lines" option (Render tab) enabled, do you see the lines?

HI, I created the User Surface with the option: FROM FILE and then referenced to a text file which contains the coordinates of the 4 end points of the user surface (it's explained in the help of cfx).

NO, I can't see the projection of the mesh elements on the user surface.

Hi Christian,

I've never created user surfaces through that method. But it seems you have to include the inner points in the text file.
