Hi to all.I want to capture boundary layer in cfx .I have studied about solver y plus and y plus. But I could not get it properly.I want to know tha thow we can give y plus for BL.i.e. how to calculate that these much no of nodes will be require for capturing B.L.Which equation I should use?

The solver y+ tells you how close is the first node from the wall.generally if u mesh is refined enough then the first node in the boundary layer will be less than 11.

Use the post processor to check this after you create the mesh.

thanx rajit

One can capture the boundary layer by calculating the rough boundary layer thickness. Then mesh the domain in such a way that you mesh should be fine enough(i.e. resolve). Later check for the y-plus in the post processor of the CFX.
