Need some advice:
i want to visualize the flow path of water through foam ( of different porosity) from a syringe and needle. the needle is inserted randomly into foam. i do not want to model the needle into the foam. some questions which i have (1) is it a steady state or transient simulation? (2) how do i set an inlet in the middle of the foam? (3) how do i visualize is such that it is like a mold filling animation? thanks so much in advance. |

(1): You have answered this with your question (3) (2): You may create a thin subdomain and set a source of water (3): You may define an isosurface of water volume fraction = 0.5 , or an isovolume of water volume fraction >= 0.5 . The tutorails show how to create animations.

rui,
still not sure if it should be a transient or steady flow simulation. basically i'll need to see how the water flows thru the porous foam after certain time. i could use a physical timescale with steady state? i followed Tutorial15 of CFX on multiphase modeling as a test. can i use transient? any tutorial to recommend for this? txs |
