DoesCFX calculatemixtur propertie of multicompflow
 

Hi i want to use multicomponet flow .I want to ask why FX does not calcultae mixture prioeprties?IN my problem i have four gases .CO,CO2,CH4,H2.The mass fraction of CO=0.70,CO2=0.07,H2=0.20,CH4=0.03. When i am applying gas properties in materail and afetr that I have made mixture which contains all these component gases.Now in that i have taken fixed composition and it has asked me for mass fraction and i have applied.Now accordibg to manula CFX should calcultate that mixture properties from applied comaponnents,but in my case it has not calculted.and i had to apply manualy.(Fortunately i have calcultade avg properties of mixture).so my question is why it has been happened?Does CFX not calculate mixture properies ?Does we have to applt those properties ?Does anybody know?

Dear Uday,

The properties for fixed composition mixtures are automatically calculated by the ANSYS CFX Solver, not ANSYS CFX Pre..

You can overwrite the mixture rule by providing your own average in the MIXTURE PROPERTIES section in ANSYS CFX-Pre..

Perhaps the documentation is not clear enough..
