my problem in cfx is to circulate a portion of the outlet. here as u said if i use periodic it will circulate every thing and also the geometry and the grids are different for both the inlet and outlet. so, i cant use that. Is there any other method.

I assume there is stuff happening in between on the return path, so is it that you want to make your inlet a function of the flow at the outlet? If that is the case, you can do so by using CEL expressions relating the two.

The actual variable name will depend on the fluid name, it ends up being something like <component>.mf. Have a look at your variable names in Post to know for sure.

thank you robin, we got some recirculation, we did it for a single fluid. now we want to do that for particle also we are not able to track the particle in our case we took a varible composition mixture coal consisting of volatiles, char and ash. now we have to find the conditions (mass fractions of volatiles, char and ash) what you told .mf is working fine for fluid(continues). i cant get the numerical values of the particles. sorry for my late reply. bye
