analyse heat distribution inside an enclosure

hello everyon!!!

I would like to know can cfx be used to analyse heat distribution in a volume? If yes, how can i do it?

My case is discribed as follow: I have a rectangular enclosure with a rectangular pcb inside. I have redesigned the enclosure and now would like to know if the heat distribution inside the redesigned-enclosure will cause problems.

I know it may be an easy problem with a number of steps, but i really do not know how to do it. Can anyone kindly teach me how to do it? Just some brief steps to me are also ok.

Thanks everyone.

Is your volume of interest solid? Then I believe you simply set this volume asa solid domain, use interfaces to the surrounding fludi domain. COnjugate heat transfer is then automatically calculated.

Sounds like you should be using FLOTHERM or ICEPAK
