2006 Internation ANSYS Conference
Dear all,
The 2006 International ANSYS Conference is to be held May 2-4, with training April 30 â€" May 1 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I am assuming that many of you are students and may not consider attending but I urge you to reconsider. There is a special rate for students and there is a lot to gain. (The rest of you have no excuse :) The conference web site is http://www1.ansys.com/conf2006/. Here you can find more information about technical sessions, training and registration. As far as CFD training is concerned, there will be a 2-day turbomachinery course and a 1 day course on turbulence (given by Dr. Florian Menter) and an introductory course on CFD for the non-CFD specialist. The turbomachinery course focuses on the use of the various turbo applications and discusses some of the modeling and numerical details relevant to turbomachinery CFD. If you are currently doing turbomachinery design and analysis or plan to in the future, this is a very good course to attend. The turbulence course offers a one day overview of turbulence modeling. Dr. Menter is well renowned in this field and is best known as the inventor of the SST turbulence model. In addition to discussing current techniques, he will also get into some of the new models ANSYS is working on for the future. You will also have the opportunity to preview what is coming in version 11.0, prior to the final release later this year, and see what challenges others face in their respective industries. Best regards, Robin |
Re: 2006 Internation ANSYS Conference
V11 will be released later this year? I remember ANSYS has major release at Spring/Summer time frame and service pack at Fall. Does this mean V11 release will be delayed?

Re: 2006 Internation ANSYS Conference
I think "later this year" sufficiently covers spring and summer :)

Re: 2006 Internation ANSYS Conference
For me, "later this year" means Fall or Sept/Oct time frame. Spring and summer is more like May/June.

Re: 2006 Internation ANSYS Conference
Interesting, to me "later" means "after now" and "this year" means "the current year". Do you have special dates for when the season's start and end too ;-)

Re: 2006 Internation ANSYS Conference
Hi,
Fall/Autumn means right now to me. Does that means CFX 11 will be released to southern hemisphere customers 6 months before northern hemisphere customers? :) Glenn |
Re: 2006 Internation ANSYS Conference
And in case you live at the equator??? You won't have CFX forever?? Very difficult....
