Timesteps in steady state

Hi everyone, I am a student who is recently new to CFX. I have some question regarding timesteps in steady state flows.

1. Is there a good web page about choosing timesteps.

2. If I have problems converging, how to know if it is the mesh or the flow which is causing the problem.

3. How does CFX choose timestep when using auto timestep function

4. Is there a cook-book metod of choosing timestep (eg "If convergence curve that way - Do this ..." etc)

Thanks - Daniel

Feel free to answer all or just one of the questions above, all replies are welcome

Hi,

Have a look in the CFX documentation. It discusses all the issues you raise.

2. try the unsteady simulation with the same BC and see if convergence problem can be solved. Try adding some monitor point on the area that you think it will cause problem.
