How to set "Far field boundary condition"

Dear Friends,
In my simulation, compressible fluid jets from a nozzle(outlet) into atmosphere, at inlet of the nozzle, the pressure, temperature and velocity is known. How to set the boundary condition at outlet? Maybe set "average static pressure"=0 at outlet is not good. Could you help me? Many thanks. Eric. |

Depends on any intermediate geometry between the nozzle outlet and the farfield. Either a outlet or opening type BC could be appropriate...

Hi Erick,
At the opposite end, a constant static pressure outlet would suffice. On the top or sides, use an opening with static pressure and no direction. These should also be sufficiently far away from your jet. Regards, Robin |
