CFX 10's solutions differ from CFX 5.7's

I solved one project by CFX 5.7, a few years ago. At this moment, I'd like to use the results from that project. To check something, I used the definition files generated by CFX 5.7 and let CFX 10 solve these files. I get the unexpected results. When I used CFX 5.7, the maximum residules of the equations solved is less than 1E-6 (0.000001). However, in CFX 10, the maximum is fluctuated between 8E-4 and 1E-4. Why do I get the different solutions, do anyone have an idea?

That may simply be the result of residual normalisation but I'm not sure about that.

Regardless of the residuals, How much is the difference between the flow field results? If possible, could you get any comparison between the parameters like outlet flow rate, static pressure, etc.?

Check the CFX 10 release notes. There is an entire section on numerics changes made from CFX 5.7/5.7.1 -> CFX 10. Perhaps one of these issues is effecting your case.

Hi,

this may be due to the CFX version. I found out yesterday that by working with 5.7 some of the node componenets that I have created in ANSYS are simply not appearing in CFX and this is not the case with the version 10.
