Expressions and FSI Question
Greetings,
I am running FSI Sims with two way coupling between ANSYS 10 and CFX 10. My difficulties lie in establishing a good mesh stiffness. I read in tutorial 20 that a good mesh stiffness would be 1 / the volume of the control volume. However, I do not what commands I need to enter in the CEL epression language to get "the volume of the control volume." I have looked in the help files of CFX and still have not been able to find the information I need. If someone already knows or can point me in the correct direction, I would greatly appreciate their assistance. |
Re: Expressions and FSI Question
The variable 'volcvol' gives the volume of the control volume. It has dimensions of volume (L^3), so you will need to normalize this by dividing by 1[m^3] and multiply by the appropriate dimensions to use it as stiffness. You could also use 1/wallscale, which will make the mesh stiffer near the walls.
Version 11.0 will have some pre-defined stiffness options which do something similar. Regards, Robin |
