what exactly is the Courant Number ???

Please, could you explain what is the Courant Number? I tried to find it in CFX-doc, but there is mentioned only with timestem adaptation. But I'd lik to understand it more. So is it has any math. definion? Thanks in advance

What is my problem - I hav a hard problem with transident run (pointed into time-average solutin, I don't care about the unsteady effect) but my courant number varies from 150 to 600 within a few timesteps. Could be it problem with convergence? Thanks

I'm using SST, unstructured mesh, Re 7.5e7 and TS is 0.5 s

Hi Novice,

I recommend you to write "courant number" in search, and you will find necessary information about it. If you are using cfx, and you are interested in time-averaged solution, you dont need to worry about it.
