Default Gambit to CFX

I used Gambit to generate a .msh mesh. I read it in FLUENT and exported it to a CGNS file. When I read it in CFX-pre, I am not getting all of my regions. I have no boundaries. I have just one Fluid region. Therefore I am not able to specify any boundary conditions. Can anyone help?

Write the mesh as .msh, read it in tgrid, export as patran neutral file and then read, it in cfx, you will have all boundary regions.

Is there a way possible to do this without Tgrid? I don't have Tgrid, and after going around talking to some people i know, i realised that no one else has it either.

Thanking in anticipation

Well I only worked with CFX one day, (last friday, So all my CFX experience is just one day), so I am still thinking of a way of doing it without tgrid. But if you do not have tgrid, download it from fluentusers.com and install it, it shall work with the same license.

Thanks a lot Zxaar for your co-operation. I finally was able to do it without Tgrid. I can read the .msh from Gambit to FLUENT. Then I need to initialise it. Then save it a PATRAN neutral file. Directly readable with all regions in CFX. Talk about coincidence, I am new to FLUENT as you are to CFX

Yepp Patran neutral is the format requred for it. I did not explore the Fluent solver to export to partan, the simple reason was we have one month demo license and I had to do lot of calculations. So first day I was supposed to learn CFX and start the calculations. (SO I did)

Why not use ICEM for it? If someone have CFX then, in most cases, ICEM CFD is also purchased...

Hi Omer, Zxaar,

Do you know whether you could create an axisymmetric model for cfx using gambit?
