Anyone who has some experience about this topic please tell me when this option should be activated, and for hydrodynamic simulations what effects of activated or non activeted Freestream Damping option makes? I tested both cases for my simulation for a short time step , the results are exactly the same. But I would like to be sure.

Regards

Furkan

Use the default option - when it matters (which is very rare, which is why it isn't documented) it behaves better.

Please can you give some more information:

- what's the default option (no damping, first order, second order)?

- when should I use the freestream damping option for curvatures

best regards Holger
