Microfluidics

Has CFX got microfluidics functionality ?

Also what is the price of the code for university use?

Yes, its called laminar flow.

Hi everoyne microfluidic problem

I am runing a microfluidic problem, using a small timestep in a transient simulation. I try the timestep adaptation to have a small numbers of iterations and to have a low courant number about 1, but I expect to have accumulations of one of the fluids, should I set on the conservation target? the courant nuber is about 20 :(. but with smaller timestep i can obtain around 1 the adaptation dont do nothig becouse i have 1 iteration by loop with the conservation targuet off
Thaks a lot

Why are you using Courant number time step adaptation? Generally it is best to adapt to 3-5 coeff loops per iteration.

I do not understand what you are asking.

Hi thanks for your answer, i found a mistake in the convergence criteria, was set on 1e-2 in RMS, so the simulation only do 1 loop per iteration, in the other hand, i whant to have a low courant number, becouse i have been reading that a low courant number is important to obtain a good solution on surface tension problems.
I will try to adapt coeff loop per iteration to see what happen thaks a lot

Correct. It is vital. But that does not mean adaptive timesteps on Courant numebr is the best choice. It just means you need a small timestep and that can be achieved by many other means, and number of iterations is a pretty good thing to try first.
