mesh for a high aspect ratio geometry

Hello everyone, I try to create a mesh with ICEM for an angel of a tube. Because of the very small diameter this geometry has a great aspect ratio (about 2000). I already created a mesh (extrude by rotation) for only a small part (10mm length) and now I tried to create it in the same way for 1000mm length. But now it doesn't work. The final number of elements can't be too much, because it's about 900 000 elements. Is there anything I have to consider for this high aspect ratio? Thanks Matthias

I had the same problem. My channel's diameter is 280 microns and the lenght is 79 mm. How do we proceed?

Try reducing the triangle-tolerance value from the Global Meshing parameters panel. Maybe to 1e-5 or 1e-6. This will give better geometry resolution and may help. You could also try scaling the geometry to create the mesh - then rescale back down to true size.

I don't know if that was really my problem, but I had used double node cheking when I imported the mesh into CFX Pre. Without it it works. Matthias
