Hi,

Does the latest version of CFX has Volume of fluid method for fluid surface tracking. Can anyone comment on this aspect

This is a problem very important, because if you want tranking a interface bettween gas and liquid you need use this tecnic.

Yes, you can track a free surface in any current version of CFX using homogenous multiphase with free surface turned on. See the tutorials for details.

Hi Thandavanadhi,

just a clarification. The term interface tracking usually refers to methods which actually move the mesh: "Boundary fitted grids are used, and they are re-adjusted each time the free surface is used" Ferziger and Peric 2ed, p. 356

VOF methods fall in the category of Interface CAPTURING methods.

CFX has the later...and it is very good. But not the former.

Tell us more about your application and you may get some specific tips.

Dear Bak_flow

I want to model dam break problem in CFX. I would like to use VOF in CFX. In the multiphase simulation this option is not coming.. What method CFX uses .?.

This is essentially what you get when you pick two fluids (i.e. Eularian-Eularian multiphase). There is a free surface tutorial (flow over a bump). Give it a try.
