Semi porous fence

I am looking at the air flow around a building, and what to model the air passing through a wire mesh fence which rund perpendicular to the building. I have created this as a single surface, internal wall in ICEM, but am a little unsure as to the best way to model its porosity in CFX-pre. My inital thoughts are that I model it as an opening, with a relative pressure of 0Pa and a loss coefficient of, say 50%. i feer i maybe over simplifying it somewhat though.

does anybody have any thoughts or feelings as to how i proceed?

Regards,

Andrew

Re: Semi porous fence

In the end, I decided to give it some arbitrary thickness, and then a volumetric porosity, which seems to have worked well.

Just in case any one was interested...!
