Anyone done testing of the new version(v11) versus the old (v10) for speed/convergence, etc?
Thanks, Erich |

Hi,
See the CFX Community pages, there is extensive discussion on this point. In short the CFX11 solver seems to be about 10-20% faster than V10. I do not know about convergence, I suspect little difference there. The CFX Community pages have been down for over a week for me now. Is it just me or are they down for everybody? Glenn Horrocks |

No, for me it works (as good as it works since the relaunch...)

Community pages could be down due to a massive downloading of CFX 11. It wasn't fast in the first place. I hope the server running the community pages is not the same server for CFX 11 downloads.

It is happening to me as well. I tried with both Firefox and IE. Is it still down for you, Glenn?

Hi,
Yes, it is still down for me. I am talking about the CFX Community forum here, not the customer pages. I can get into the customer page with the downloads and other info fine, it is just the forum which is broken. Glenn Horrocks |

No, it works for me. Last posts yesterday (cfx-pre and cfx-post). It works even with IE.

for me the CFX Community forum subscription service (posts automatically forwarded to your eMail adress) didn't work for about two weeks, now it seems to be up again. Custumer area ok incl. download 11 as with Glenn.

Hi,
I can read the CFX Community forums now but I don't have permissions to post anything. My email to portalhelp@... asking to fix the problem has gone unanswered. Alas. Glenn Horrocks |

CFX Community pages working for me in so far as they load. Failing miserably in every other sense e.g. actually being useful since the re-launch! Am I really the only one who thinks the new format is horrible?
Also we cannot manage to download our version of 11 which is becoming seriously infuriating since ANSYS took the decision to make this the primary method of distribution and appear to have made no bandwidth provision. Not good! |
