moving mesh

Hi all,

I am facing a rotating mesh problem. In my case, an ellipse wall in XY-plane rotates around its center axis (Z-axis) with a sinusoidal function alpha = sin(omega*t). At initial time (t=0), the ellipse is horizontal in X-axis. I define two functions for mesh movement as follows, XDIS = r*cos(omega*t/1[s]+theta)-r*cos(theta); YDIS = r*sin(omega*t/1[s]+theta)-r*sin(theta); omega = 2*pi; Time for transient analysis is t = 1 [s]; TimeStep = 0.001 [s]. My problem can not be solved even though the mesh is very fine and the ellipse wall was set to Specified Location or Specified Displacement. I think that there must be a problem in my mesh movement functions. I still don't know how to treat them. Could you please suggest any rotating mesh function for me?

Thank you very much for your help.

Re: moving mesh

Hi,

If the mesh only rotates then use a rotating frame of reference and forget about moving mesh.
