Turbulence modeling of non-Newtonian fluid

I am fresh in CFD. I am working on the simulation of non-newtonian fluid which is turbulent in nature. Could I model non-newtonian fluid by turbulence model like k-epsilon or k-omega model in CFX 10.0?
I wanna set the viscosity in terms of shear strain rate, applying the power law. I only see a tutorial which works on laminar model. Thanks |

Turbulence modelling in Newtonian fluids is already a minefield.
Turbulence modelling in non-Newtonian fluids is poorly developed and understood. While CFX will allow you to model non-Newtonian flow with one of the turbulence models, you will need to feed the model with appropriate constants. That's assuming the turbulence model is even applicable to your situation in the first place. |

reviving this post, would you have any reference for setting the k-epsilon model constants? If yes, based on which work or published scientific papers? I could not find anything so far.. Thank you for your contribution! Cheers, J |

The model constants are already set at values widely regarded as appropriate for a wide range of flows. There are hundreds of papers in the literature where they try modifications to it, it won't take you long to find them if you look.
But if you are thinking about turbulence modelling in non-Newtonian flows then Joe's post is wise advice.
