Solid Timestep

I'm performing a heat transfer simulation both through solid bodies (conduction) and fluid (convection). Does anybody can suggest me a correct solid timestep to use for it?

Many thanks in advance !!! Davide

Hi,

If you are running a steady state model then the following might start you off:

[density(solid)*Cp(fluid)]/[density(fluid)*Cp(Solid)]

You can also adjust it during a simulation using edit run in progress. This way you can tune it while it is running for best effect.

If your simulation is transient then you cannot accelerate the solid timestep.

Dear Glenn, both your suggestions were really nice! Figuring out on several ways and following what you said, I found a good solution to my problem! Thank you very much! Davide
