Opening CFX10-Mesh with CFX11

Hi,
I have problems opening with CFX11 a mesh definition file (.cmdb) which was created with CFX-10. I am using three files which were created with CFX10: .agdb, .cmdb, .cmdat I open without any problem the geometry file (.agdb). Then I select "New Mesh", and in the Meshing window I open the file (.cmdb). At that moment CFX generates a new project, and opens the mesh definition file but cannot read it properly. It does not recognize some 2d composite regions. Has anybody gone through this problem? Thanks for your help Luis |

A .cmdb file from CFX-Mesh 10 does not contain the mesh, only the mesh settings. You need to write out a .gtm file from CFX-Mesh 10. In CFX-Mesh 11 the .cmdb does contain the mesh.

That is what I have done. I have used the .gtm file in CFX-11 directly. But I think it should be possible to open a .cmdb file (mesh settings) with CFX-11 and then generate the .gtm file (mesh) with CFX-Mesh 11. Otherwise you still have to continue using CFX-10 in order to change the mesh settings, then generate the new mesh, and then open the .gtm file with CFX-11. Which means that you need to keep both versions installed.
