AMD 64 FX-series Windsor

Hi All,

did anyone test the AMD 64 FX-7series (Windsor)? According to the site http://www23.tomshardware.com/ this series shows the best performance on floating point operations. It is three times as fast as the Core2duo conroe.

"It is three times as fast as the Core2duo conroe."

Bullshit. Its just a standard K8 style core.

You can easily judge/scale their relative performance from: http://www.fluent.com/software/fluen...lems/fl5lc.htm

That chip is equivalent to an Opteron core ... just look for an appropriate clock speed in the benchmark data. Then compare it too a 3 GHZ Woodcrest core.

Hi Joe,

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I was looking to the memory floating points. It is better to look to the CPU speed.
