Hello. Has anybody performed an analysis of oil mist transport in air? If so, wich model did you use? Multicomponent? Additional variable with a transport equation? Particle tracking? I'll be waiting for your answers. Thanks in advance.

How must oil do you expect?

How is the oil defined? Narrow diameter distribution?

What are the question that you have to answer?

It is for cutting operations. The particle size will depend on where they come from (cutting or transportin of the oil). I'm comparing different possibilities for the extraction system. Bye.

When talking about a mist of oil in air, I would start with a homogeneous model, using the oil droplet as a dispersed phase.

When talking about a cutting process I am not so sure anymore. Sounds like you have pure liquid oil as well in your process. You should treat this as a continuous phase. Thus, you have two continuous phases. Then I would use a mixture model. Be careful, this analysis is not trivial.
