dynamic material properties

Hi everybody,

Is it possible to set material properties in CFX-Pre which are dependent from the current region/subdomain?

I have following case:

Air flows through a domain and in this domain is also a porous subdomain. I like to have a different orthotropic thermal conductivity for the air in the porous subdomain as in the rest of the domain. How can I implement it in CFX?

Thanks a lot,

Greg

Hi Greg!

You can define your thermal conductivity using a CEL-variable. This can again depend on the subdomain via the CEL-Function inside.

inside()@Subdomain_Name

takes the value 1 in the subdomain Subdomain_Name and zero otherwise.

Hope this helps.

Hi Terje!

Thanks a lot for your help, this CEL-Function is very helpful for my purposes.
