HI

I am using ANSYS CFX 11.0 version and have written an expression to calculate torque acting on a blade in z direction.

My expression is :

torque_z@Rot Blade 1

where Rot Blade 1 is the location of the blade. This expression looks correct syntaxwise and it worked well in ANSYS CFX 10.0 ..but in CFX 11.0 its showing error.

The error is :

"locator name may not follow variable name."

I am not able to figure out what error says..kindly help me with this..

With regards.

Hi

I think in CFX-10 also it will not work. Modify it with a bracket in between as follows.

torque_z()@Rot Blade 1

Thanks for your reply Pankaj

Ya it worked in ANSYS CFX 11 ...but it worked without bracekts in cfx 10 ..why bracket is needed there if we dont want an expression.

thanks for ur help..it worked

Dear Mechstud,

It may have worked just by chance in ANSYS CFX 10.0 because the documentation says:

torque [<Fluid>.]torque_[<Axis>[_<Coord Frame>] ]()@<Location>

An error is raised if the location specified is not 2-D.

The syntax is being enforced in 11.0.

Opaque
