Boundary Conditions
Dear All.

I am trying to simulate a multiphase-multicomponent problem. In my problem there is a cylinder with two inlets ( each at upper and lower ends) and same way two outlets . Cylinder is continuously stirred. I know the mass flowrates at inlets. What conditions should I define at outlets? Awaiting for your valuable suggestions.

you can give the static pressure at the outlet.

In CFX if u see u could see a valid combinations of BC just follow that.

It would be better if ur able to determine the velocity at one of the outlet.

U havent specified what kind of flow it is either sub sonic or supersonic. based on that too it differs

Hi Priya.

Thanks for your suggestions. The flow in my problem is sub- sonic. I know the velocities at both outlets; but will it be a robust combination if i define mass flowrate at inlet and velocity at outlet?

rather than giving more robust condition robust condition solves better. I too have faced a similar kind of prob but with single inlet and 2 outlet. robust gives better

If u want to determine pr variation from the inlet its better to give total pressure at the inlet and velocity at the outlet and solve
