i have a question about a cfd code named fastran and ace from a company named cfdrc that belongs to esi group now.

does ever anyone use these codes ???? i would like to know a comparizon between cfx fluent star cd with fastran or ace.

I have used CFD-ACE briefly. It is very easy to use, far easier than any other CFD software I have tried. Plenty of physics models are available. Not a bad code at all. But I bought CFX not CFD-ACE so for me CFX is the software to use for my work.

i believe that you are one of the most good finite elements analiser that i meet in my life, your opinion always matters for everyone in this forum, please tell me if you have any price list or any idea about the price and also what do you recoment cfx or cfdrc fastran? the software will license to a friend of mine that works on internal compustion engines...

Talk to your local distributors for prices for the various software. The distributors for ANSYS CFX can be found on the ANSYS website. They are all keen to offer trial periods with the software so you can try them out and find which is best for your application.

i do not trust the distributors of ansys.... 10 000 dollars for design space in usa (7000 eyros) and 28 000 in my country !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the same with the othes ansys products...

I can appreciate your frustration if you are used to purchasing office productivity software or games, but simulation tools are different and I wouldn't expect CFDRC codes to be any cheaper. What does it cost you to build and test a prototype? What is the potential benefit of a shorter design cycle, improved reliability or a more competitive product?

Compare these to the price of the software and you will probably find that the Simulation tools SAVE or MAKE you more mone than they cost, you just need to keep the big picture in mind.

i do not say to be cheap .... i just say that if something cost 10000 in usa it might cost 12000 or 14 000 in my country ... but not 28000... theses are thief....
