Running in patch when your license is running out

I have a frustrating problem trying to run in batch. My license is coming up to its renewal date, and therefore keeps reminding me to renew (Your license expires in X days... etc) which requires an OK click to continue. When running in batch, for each simulation it requires an OK at the start click to start the run. Because of this, I can't set simulations going overnight or at the weekend, as it only runs the first sim on the list!

Does anybody know of a workaround for this?!

Many thanks,

Andrew

Re: Running in patch when your license is running

Hi,

I too have come across this problem. I agree that this is an extremely stupid thing for ANSYS to have added to the code as it stops you from doing batch jobs. I have pointed this out to our support guys (and they agree it is bad) here several times over the years but it is still in the code. Please, please please remove this ANSYS - or at least make it so it does not stop the job while waiting for the user to press OK.

There is a way to minimise the damage. In windows, set an environment variable called "ans_flexlm_expwarn_days" to a value of 1. Unfortunately you can't turn it completely off but at least you can minimise the damage to the last day only.

Regards, Glenn

Hi Andrew, ask the ANSYS support representative. The more often they got the question, the higher the probability that they change it.
