Smoke Modelling
Hi,
I've calculated the combustion products and heat generated from the combustion of a hydrocarbon fuel, and I now want to model the smoke dispersion. My first idea was to create a volume source, i.e. a new subdomain with specified sources, however I am coming across some problems. First, when setting the continuity source, I am setting a temperature. If I now set a source in the energy equation, wont the temperature setting and my energy source inevitably conflict in some way? If anyone has some experience of smoke modelling, I would be very grateful to hear. Is a volume source the way to go? Many thanks in advance for your time, Oli |
Re: Smoke Modelling
Hi,
If you want to model the smoke independent of the combustion you should model it as an additional variable which can convect around with the flow. You can include buoyancy effects from the heat if you need it. Glenn Horrocks |
