Hello , I would like to know why do we use each one in Ansys ? so that What we use CFX for ? ICEM CFD ? and all the other parts in ANSYS softwares. Can you please define what we use each one for ?

I surfed on the web of ansys , but frankly it is confusing , so i think it would be easier for me to understand them if someone explain .

thanks

Hi,

ANSYS started with an FEA package, but it has grown to include CFD, electromagnetics, etc etc now - so they call it a multiphysics code.

CFX is a CFD package. ANSYS has recently acquired Fluent and that is a CFD code too.

ICEM CFD is meshing software. It was originally designed for making CFD meshes, but meshes are used by all simulation streams in ANSYS so it is now a general meshing software in the ANSYS suite.
