notice in CFX solver

Hi Everybody,

when i am runing a program in solver a notice is being displayed after every iteration as

"A Wall has been placed at portion(s) of an OUTLET boundary condition(at 89.6% of the faces,at 89.6% of the area) to prevent fluids from flowing into the domain. The boundary condition name is : OUTLET. The fluid name is : water. If this situation persists, consider switching to an opening type boundary condition instead."

what does this mean?how to get rid of this?what does this 'opening type boundary condition' mean?

OUTLET BOUNDARY DETAILS are: I have considered Mass Flow Rate with a value of 1 kg/sec.

thanq.

Re: notice in CFX solver

Hi It means that there is a reverse flow at the exit boundary. You could extend your outlet further downstream to get rid of this warning. Thanks

thank you.. but how to extend the outlet?my input for outlet boundary condition is just mass flow rate.sorry if this is a silly question, but i am not getting any idea.

well, you can do something like, use either total pressure as inlet and mass flow in outlet or mass flow at inlet and static pressure at outlet. Hope if you do so you should not have any problem with the reverse flow. Thanks
