Turbulence and steady state

Default Turbulence and steady state

Hi,

Thanks a lot to forum users for helping me out at many moments.

If the flow is turbulent and swirl in nature, does it make sense to run it for steady state soultions ?

I see people doing it in a few published papers but at the same time I find few people wondering about it?

Any comments will help me. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

If the flow is steady state then yes. However, many swirling flows are not steady state and in that case you really need to model it transient.
