Baffle in the cubical domain in design modeler

Hi every body

I like to setup 3 baffles in a cubical domain. I like these baffles hasn't any thickness such as surface; 3 surface in the cube. How can I do it in the ansys design modeler?

Thanks eslam

Hi,

This is called a "thin surface" and I think the gas lift reactor tutorial in CFX uses one.

Hello,

If you extrude the curve (open ended), you will get surface bodies, which can be used as baffles. If you are using closed curves, as Mr Horrocks suggested you can choose Thin Surface Option with Inward and outward thickness as zero. This will give you a surface of the closed curve.

Hi thanks for your pay attention I extrude the open end line and I produce a surface but i cant send it to CFX-Mesh. in CFX-Mesh i cant see the surface. I dont need thin surface that told dear Glenn Horrocks. I want one surface inside a cube!!

Hi,

CFX Mesh does not use surface bodies, only solid bodies. You need to use the extrusion to slice the solid body such that you have your internal surface.

In DesignModeller you will need to use the slice function.

Hi Dear Glenn

It needs thickness? I can't setup it. Can you set up simple structure for me? I don't like thickness, if I have it, my mesh quality reduces and also my CPU time is very big. My E-mail: Kashi_58@yahoo.com

Solution

How I solved

Just put the Surface and the 3d Body in one Part in the Design Modeler and Import the Multibody-Part into the mesh module.

You should see your Body with the inside Surface as a part of the Body.
