negative solid volume error

Hi,

I am trying to mesh a 3D solid with CFX v11, but I get the following error message:

"The calculated volume of this solid is negative. A volume mesh cannot be generated. This can occur if you have tried to volume mesh a surface body"

This is strange because when I verify the geometry I get no error messages and when I generate the surface mesh neither. Also, this same model was reporting no errors in CFX v10. Does anybody how can I fis this problem?

thanks,

Luis

Hi,

Are you meshing in Workbench?

Yes, I am meshing in Workbench with CFX-Mesh.

Re: negative solid volume error

In that case the problem is almost always due to either using too large an element to capture a small geometry feature or a poor geometry model which overlaps itself.
