How to calculate Transition onset and length??
 

Hi, can anybody tell me how will I calculate transition onset location and transition length in CFX-post?

I have used Gamma Theta Model.

Hi,

Are you trying to see where the simulation has predicted the transition points? Look at the turbulence intermittency variable. 0=laminar, 1=turbulent.

do I need to see the contour of turbulence intermittency??

Can't I make any plot of Turbulence Intermittency Vs. X?

Hi,

Turb Int. is a scalar variable like any other. It can be viewed on a surface, as an isosurface, a contour on a cross section plane or may other ways. You can make a plot of turb int versus X by exporting the turb int and X location along any object, such at a line, surface or cross section plane.
