Two solids 2D CHT Analisys

I'm trying to do a 2D analisys(one element thick mesh) to investigate the cooling efficience of a copper bar covered by an insulation layer. A source subdomain is assigned to copper region taking into account the effect of current flow.

I obtained a good temperature distribution for the colling fluid, but the copper bar calculated temperature is 0°K. I think I set right parameters for solid-solid (copper - insulant) interface.

I dont understand what happens... Can someone help me? Thank you.

Hi,

Obviously something is wrong with your physics setup. Check all parameters affecting heat transfer. It could be anything from material properties to interface conditions to boundary condition setup.

... i think you are right. But I dont understand where error could be.

I used a source subdomain in copper region, solid-solid interface between copper and insulating layer, solid-fluid between insulant and air. I choose the automatic mesh connection method. The one elemet thick mesh is obtained extruding a 2D mesh in ICEM CFD. Materials come from CFX library (Air ideal gas).

I also tried to analyze a much simpler model having similar features, and results were wrong again.

Have you got some idea? If you want I can send you my files. Thank you.

Hi,

I don't have time to debug people's simulations. If you need detailed help talk to CFX support.

Build your model up one component at a time and check each part is working correctly as you assemble it. This takes quite a bit of time but is the only way to be sure.
