Floating point exception: Overflow?
Hi, when I run the solver it complete 9 iterations but then i get this error:
ERROR #001100279 has occurred in subroutine ErrAction. | Message: | | Floating point exception: Overflow what causes this error? |
Re: Floating point exception: Overflow?
I am having same problem, please let me know how to resolve the issue if you find out. My solver crashes after 2 time steps.

Re: Floating point exception: Overflow?
Hi, I get this error quite often when residual levels go very down (up to 10^-7 or 10^-8) at a sudden and the solver crashes.
Bascially I feel safe to assume that it happens when the solver is unable to hande the numerics occuring. Try reducing your time step for transient flow or 'false time step' for steady state flow. Make sude that your initial guess is not making any disaster. And if you get some better answer, please share with us. I will love to know. Regards, KK |
Hi KK,
but which values are reasonable for the "false time step" (steady case). How can I calculate an approximate value? Domenico |
This is all discussed in the documentation. Have a look at tips for obtaining convergence.
