FSI using Fortran routines

I've been pondering the last days on how to extract the nodal forces on a wall boundary during a transient run, and use them in a fortran routine to govern the node displacements on that boundary (ie govern the FSI using Fortran code).
So far, it seems I can get the face area of all faces on the boundary, along with the normal vector to the face, and the pressure in all nodes. This of course makes it rather difficult to extract nodal forces, as the pressures are given in the nodes, where as the areas are tied the the element faces. Can anyone give me advice on the subject, which subroutines might already be available or how to integrate the pressure in each node up to a nodal force. Thank you in advance, Anders |

Hi,
Why is the built in FSI between CFX and ANSYS not suitable? Glenn Horrocks |

I am not quite sure what built in features ANSYS-CFX have, as I am not an experienced user.
I need the nodal forces so I can use them in a Fortran routine to calculate the deflection of my geometry using a modal model with the significan eigenmodes. If there is a built in function to do this, I am all ears. - Anders |

Hi,
Yes, ANSYS has a built in FSI link to CFX. You will need both a CFX and an ANSYS license to use it. Talk to your CFX support if you don't have the licenses. Glenn Horrocks |
