Gambit (mesh) versus CFX-v11.0
Can i use a mesh done in Gambit to use on cfx-11?

Re: Gambit (mesh) versus CFX-v11.0
Yes. Write it out to FLUENT, then choose FLUENT as the mesh type when importing into Pre.

i wanna simulate on cfx11! (not on fluent)

Re: Gambit (mesh) versus CFX-v11.0
But CFX can input Fluent (*.cas) mesh files. Cyclone is suggesting you choose the Fluent mesh format IN CFX when you input the mesh. Check out the documentation if you don't know how to do that.

Re: Gambit (mesh) versus CFX-v11.0
Dear Rogerio,
Did you finally get a "valid" license for ANSYS CFX? Are you also using Gambit on the same terms? Please read carefully Cyclone's response (not as fast as you read the ANSYS CFX license agreement).. He said, write the file in FLUENT format (he did not say to run FLUENT), and load it in ANSYS CFX Pre-11.0. When importing the mesh, select the FLUENT format. You can continue from there. Hope the above helps, Opaque |

Gracias!

Re: Gambit (mesh) versus CFX-v11.0
I think before any others offer any help one might be inclined to ask about the legality of the cracked version of Gambit you likely have. The original poster has alluded to in the past that he has a pirated version of CFX, so its doubtful the Gambit software was obtained legally as well. Please stop offering help to pirates, guys.

Re: Gambit (mesh) versus CFX-v11.0
Hi Opaque,
I guess you might have noticed one warning while importing FLUENT mesh (*msh) in CFX-Pre that some particular zone if found to be internal zone and it is being ignored. It may be because fluent identifies the domain as an internal region. I would be glad to learn if you can tell some thing about this warning, e.g. if it has some affect upon the simulation run in CFX-11 Thanks, KK. |
Re: Gambit (mesh) versus CFX-v11.0
I am new in CFX, I am trying to open mesh file in cfx from gambit. From the steps previous forums to convert from everybody, I tried to create a *.cas file from Fluent after I exported *.msh file from Gambit and try to open in CFX. But I failed
I found that there is no *cas file types. I only found the file types of CFX Files (*.cfx*.def*.res), CCL Files (*.ccl), Meshing Files (*.cmdb*.dsdb), and CFX Mesh Files (*.gtm). Hope that I can get helps and advices from you all. Thank you. |
hi
after you created mesh and specify the boundary conditions in gambit export it as a fluent mesh ".msh "file and save it. open cfx-pre,right click on mesh in tree, open"import mesh",a box opens to choose the mesh file you have created before,in the mesh format browser in this box select fluent mesh".msh" and choose your msh file... |
oic..Thanks for your help, I had managed to open it..
