checking the number of nodes

Hello people !

I would like to kown how, in a especific way, we can get the number of nodes in the bondary layer.

I´m simulating a flow around a ressonate pipe. The values that CFX Post to respect yplus is very high. For example the results of this variable is something like 10^6, when i need to get for yplus, yplus < 200 (i´m using SST model with automatic function wall).

I´m using the ICEM CFD to generate the mesh, and for refining the mesh, i´m using prism layer, in this case i only input a value for the numbers of layer.

I need to resolve the bondary layer, but i´m with difficulties about this.

thanks for anyone, who can get help me !

regards !

Re: checking the number of nodes

I can tell you this...

In CFX Post draw a line through your domain so that it goes through your boundary layer. Plot velocity through that line and export the result on the nodes. Now try to see where your boundary layer is, by using the old .99 rule of mean flow velocity. Now count the nodes.

There must be a better way, but that is all I know.

Regards
