I encounter this error while I try to start solving my problem in CFX solver and I know it is because of a negative SECTOR volume.
how can I get rid of this error? |

The error numbers only mean something to the software developers. We will need the text around it and preferably the CCL and the last bit of the output file before the error occurs.
But if it is reporting negative sector volumes at the start then you either have a poor mesh with negative volume elements (so need to remesh to fix it) or a mesh motion which is causing negative volume elements (so need to fix the mesh motion). |

the full text of the error is as follows:
ERROR #002100011 has occurred in subroutine cVolSec. | | Message: | | A negative SECTOR volume has been detected. Execution will proceed | | but this is a possible cause of robustness problems. | | The location of the first negative volume is reported below. | | Volume : -0.4979E-06 | | Location : ( 0.17891E+05, 0.28551E+05, -0.85167E+05) | | This warning may be made fatal by setting the expert parameter | | 'negative volume option = 1'. | +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ | ERROR #002100012 has occurred in subroutine cVolSec. | | Message: | | A negative ELEMENT volume has been detected. This is a fatal | | error and execution will be terminated. The location of the first | | negative volume is reported below. | | Volume : -0.3194E-05 | | Location : ( 0.17893E+05, 0.28550E+05, -0.85163E+05) | +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ | An error has occurred in cfx5solve: | | | | The ANSYS CFX solver exited with return code 1. No results file | | has been created. I have not moving mesh in my problem and the solution crashes right before it even starts, at the very begining. the most important part is that the locations of negative ELEMENT volume and negative SECTOR volume, that is given in error text, are not even in the meshed domain. thanks, alinik |
